    Nicolas, born on August 9, 1997, spent his early years in the western suburbs of Paris. Growing up amidst the challenges and hardships of street life, he quickly grasped the realities of a tough existence. However, it was during this period that he stumbled upon a life-altering discovery, which quickly became an opportunity to capture moments through the lens of a camera.

    Nicolas inherited a camera previously owned by several family members, and without any particular knowledge, talent, or motivation, he began taking photos. It served as a temporary distraction from the boredom of his everyday life, providing a fleeting sense of purpose.

During an interview, when asked to define his style, Nicolas humbly described it as “good ideas, poor execution.” This candid admission hinted at his self-awareness regarding his lack of skill and the imperfections inherent in his work. “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Which adequately sums up my entire portfolio.” Rather than pursuing mastery or growth, Nicolas resigned himself to the mediocrity that characterised his photography.

Despite his limited talent Nicolas continues to capture moments through his lens. He lacks the drive to push himself creatively, and his photos remain ordinary and uninspiring. Yet, in their simplicity, they offer a glimpse into a life marked by unfulfilled potential. His work serves as a reminder that even amidst mediocrity, there can be a semblance of meaning, however average it may be.

In 2020, Nicolas found himself conflicted with a profound lack of ambition in his “art“. Despite his limited creative skills and wavering motivation, he started thinking for the first time in his life, which opened a whole new world of possibilities for him. Shortly after, he decided to take a feeble step forward by launching his website, www.nicolas.cool, to showcase his photography. The aim was not to demonstrate exceptional talent or inspire others, but rather to fill the void of his uneventful free time.
